Nov 17th 

Eagle Scouts  from Troop 469  out of Raytown, Mo  collected for our troops at the 63rd and Phlum  HyVee.   They did a Great job !  They collected overloaded carts of items , plus some postage money !  Thanks  Eagle Scouts and HyVee  You all are great!

We would like to Thank   Mr Dave Bernhart from Texas and all the guys at The Woodlands Golf Club for all the Golf Clubs and balls and  stuff for golfing.  These were items that had been requested and we have pictures back from the guys using them.  ( see  our photo page). US TROOP SUPPORT  has been working with a local radio station  (94.1  KFKF )  for the  past few years.   We will no longer be affiliated with  KFKF  for the following reason.  We were offered a radiothon by 106.5 the Wolf.  We discussed  other radio stations helping us with  Dale Carter, program director of KFKF. He stated he had  no problem with it. In fact  the thought between us was ,we are all Americans and we are all in  this together!   On Memorial day weekend we kicked off  on Friday with a radiothon with 106.5 the Wolf.  Dale Carter contacted Linda and stated if we went on with the plan with 106.5 the Wolf, KFKF  would no longer help  US TROOP SUPPORT, because  106.5 the Wolf is their competitor. 
Linda told Dale it was too late to cancel and USTS  needed  the help to get care packages to our troops.   There  should be no competition   in supporting our troops!   KFKF  could not / would not promise US Troop Support anything. Stating  they would discuss it later in the year.  Linda  sent Dale an email on July 15th and here is the details of that email and responses! 

So Dale warned Linda Competition  is more important to KFKF than  our troops are!

It's not going to happen.  I'm sorry it's come down like this.  I tried to warn you that working with our direct competitor would have consequences and it has.   The sad thing is that I had you in mind when we did our Summer of Freedom concert with Tracy Lawrence.  We ended up writing a big check to the VA's Returning Heroes Program.  We have other plans on the books that involve some of the other organizations we're working with (including Soldiers Angels which does a lot of the same type work your group does).

 

I wish you luck as you continue to raise funds for this important organization.  However, KFKF needs to move in a different direction.

I am sorry  too.   Soldiers angels give out names and addresses  of troops in combat to anyone  via email. That places our troops in danger.    Each  time I emailed with you, you never offered anything and that placed us in a position of having no choice but to try and get  outside help.

I will let  our supporters know that KFKF  has decided to turn their backs  on us because we accepted outside help.  Competition should not be a part of supporting our troops.  America  is all in this together!
